Okay, so I have been totally MIA since starting this blog, something which I am truly annoyed with myself for. But I am back, back with a vengeance and back with a tonne of things I want to write about. Firstly, to get back into the swing of things I thought it would be fun to do a tag. If you haven’t done this already then I tag you!
1. When did you begin loving make-up?
I remember my cousin coming to stay for the weekend when I was around 11 or 12, she was a few years older than me and wore a LOT of make up. As I watched her transform her face, I was fascinated at each of the products did and the difference it could make to someone’s appearance.
After she left, I slowly built up a small make-up collection through birthday and Christmas presents, each time I got a new product I would almost instantly go and try it out. I started wearing a lot of make-up around 14 when the “emo” phase was in – I dread to think how many bottles of liquid eyeliner I got through and how many times I had to wash it off my face at school.
2. How do you feel without make-up?
I don’t feel very different, I suppose I feel a little more relaxed. I don’t wear make-up if I’m not doing much at the weekends or if I’m just chilling out. If I’ve had a stressful day at work then I come home, go upstairs and take my make-up off immediately (perhaps this is some sort of therapy for me and a symbol of wiping the day away if I’ve had a s*** one!)
3. What do you like about make-up?
I like the way it can instantly change a look, I always feel far more “put together” with make-up on.
4. Three "holy grail" items?
Revlon ColorStay Foundation – I have incredibly sensitive and pale skin, foundation that I am not allergic to AND is the right colour for me is an absolute mission to find. I recently splurged on a MAC foundation just before Christmas which resulted in me having an allergic reaction to it on Christmas day and having to leave lunch early to dash home and remove it! No matter what foundation I try out I will always go back to this one.
Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner Pen (black) – My emo days may be far behind me, but my love for eyeliner has not left me yet (although it is slightly less dramatic and panda-looking now!). This product stays black all day without fail and doesn’t transfer to the top of my eyelid , which is always a positive in my book.
Maybelline the Rocket Volume Express – Although I am not a huge fan of the plastic brushes, this one is in a league of its own. Incredibly black, adds volume and length – what more could you want!?
